Electrical and computer engineering student Taif Mohamed
published her first paper, “Uniformity studies in large area
triple GEM-based detectors,” with research associate professor
Dr. Othmane Bouhali in the journal Nuclear Instruments and
Methods in Physics Research. The article included results from
extensive simulation work of charged particle detectors
planned to be used for the upgrade of the Compact Muon
Solenoid experiment at the Large Hadron Collider at CERN.
Mohamed is also working with Bouhali on a UREP project
funded by the Qatar National Research Fund.
